COLOR & CANVAS: ArtWalks and Spray Painting at Five Points Plaza

Meet ArtWalks CLT and artist Ricky Singh on Saturday, July 22 from 11 am – 1 pm in Five Points Plaza for COLOR & CANVAS. Take a mini-ArtWalk with Ricky Singh and ArtWalks CLT and create your own tote bag by spray painting with stencils.

Explore history in murals featuring important Civil Rights pioneers, Black leaders in Historic West End, famous Black musicians from North Carolina, Afro-futurism and more. Stay and spray paint with artists from Charlotte Street Art Collab using stencils based on the murals to make your own tote bag. Thank you City of Charlotte Placemaking Grant Program for major support for this community placemaking event.

Spray painting workshop from 11 – 1 pm and mini-ArtWalks at 11:15 and 12:15. Each ArtWalk starts at Five Points Plaza and brings you back to Five Points Plaza. This event is free. Light rail access is from the Gold Line. Parking is available at the Mosaic parking deck.

Ricky Singh is a Charlotte artist, educational leader, and community curator. Singh is part of the team which founded innovative Charlotte Lab School. He is active in the Charlotte art community as a grafitti-based muralist, curator, leader and mentor.
